The President of the Federal Supreme Court receives the President of the Republic

      The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jassim Mohammed Abboud, received on Thursday, 9/2/2023, His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid.

He discussed with him the need to preserve the maintenance of the Constitution as a guarantor of public and private rights and freedoms and the rule of law, and to maintain the peaceful transfer of power to ensure the participation of all in the exercise of their civil and political rights, including the right to vote, elect and be elected.

The President of the Federal Supreme Court explained that the main purpose of the Court's work is to preserve the supreme interests of the Iraqi people regardless of religion, nationality or any other reason, and the need to preserve the democratic system in Iraq, preserve the unity of Iraq, preserve the independence of the judiciary and exercise the federal authorities of their constitutional powers in accordance with the principle of separation of powers to ensure the building of a modern democratic state.
