  The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jassim Muhammad Abboud, received on Sunday, 5/5/2024, the German Ambassador in Baghdad, Mrs. Christiane Homann, at the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court in Baghdad.

The President of the Federal Supreme Court welcomed the German Ambassador and her accompanying delegation, and during the meeting, the keenness of the Federal Supreme Court to establish bilateral relations with international constitutional courts was stressed to exchange legal expertise in the field of constitutional judiciary to develop it and benefit from the accumulated experiences of constitutional courts in a way that contributes to the correct democratic construction and the preservation of public and private rights and freedoms. Developing the work of the Iraqi constitutional judiciary.    

The German ambassador explained that her country looks forward to building strong relations with the Iraqi side at various levels, especially in the field of constitutional justice, in order to consolidate the principles of democracy and state-building in line with that system and to keep the democratic process away from sectarian quotas and politics and the role of constitutional courts in that.
