Clarification regarding the salaries of employees in the Kurdistan region

 

   On this day, a lawsuit was filed by employees from the Kurdistan Region regarding the demand for the continued payment of salaries in the Kurdistan Region and on their specified dates in accordance with the decision of this court numbered (224 and its unified number 269/Federal/2023 on 21/2/2024). They requested the issuance of a provisional order compelling the Federal Ministry of Finance to pay salaries in implementation of the aforementioned court decision, which obliges both the Prime Minister of the Federal Government and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region – Iraq to localize the salaries of the staff of all ministries, provinces, and entities not linked to a ministry, as well as all employees of other government entities, retirees, and beneficiaries of the social protection network in the region at federal government banks operating outside the region, and that these be deducted from the share of the region specified under the budget law.

The aforementioned case has been registered with this court under number (104/Federal/2025) and the legal fees have been paid. The request for the issuance of the injunction will be decided at the earliest possible time.
