A delegation from the United States Mission in Iraq visits the Supreme Federal Court.

A step towards enhancing judicial cooperation between the US Supreme Court and the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq.

As part of strengthening legal relations and exchanging experiences in the field of constitutional judiciary, a delegation from the United States Mission in Iraq visited the Federal Supreme Court on Monday, 12/5/2025 at eleven in the morning. They were received by the Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jasim Mohammed Aboud, in his office. The delegation consisted of Ms. Minister Counselor Michelle Siders, Head of the Political Section, Mr. Alan Windsor, an official in the Political Section, and Mr. Kamran Norooz, an adviser for parliamentary affairs and legislation.

This visit aims to coordinate and shape the cooperation between the Supreme Constitutional Court of the United States and the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq, and to exchange views on the constitutional issues facing both countries.

This visit gains special importance in light of the legal challenges facing judicial systems around the world, as both parties seek to share successful experiences in constitutional judiciary and ensure constitutional justice. They aim to establish the correct principles for proper democratic building and to benefit from global experiences in this field to achieve the establishment of a true democracy based on significant participation from the people.

This step reflects the Federal Supreme Court's commitment to openness to international experiences and benefiting from advanced expertise in enhancing the constitutional judiciary system in Iraq.
