The President of the Federal Supreme Court receives His Excellency the President of the Republic

 

        The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jassim Mahmoud Abboud, received in his office in Baghdad, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid

The President of the Federal Supreme Court welcomed His Excellency the President of the Republic and his accompanying delegation, where the President of the Republic indicated that the strengthening of democracy is an urgent necessity to prevent exclusivity in decision-making and to prevent the return of dictatorship. The principle of peaceful rotation of powers, that the work of the authorities is an integrative work that we seek to be a vigorous work that responds to the needs of the authorities on the one hand and the needs of society on the other

The President of the Federal Supreme Court stressed that the constitution must be preserved and its provisions must not be exceeded for any reason, because the constitution specified the form of government in Iraq and the rights and freedoms of the Iraqi people and specified the federal authorities and their competencies and the competencies shared between the federal authorities and the authorities of the regions and governorates that are not organized in a region and determined the competencies of the regional authorities as the constitution specified the components of the federal system in Iraq and that all of this is based on the principle of the rule of law and that the people are the source of the authorities and their legitimacy, which requires adherence with its provisions and that any authority that exceeds its provisions loses its constitutional legitimacy because the constitution is the one who created it and that violating it represents a violation of the will of the people because the constitution is the document of the Iraqi people with all its sects and components that embodies its humanitarian, moral, social and national values
