    The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the delegation headed by the President of the Federal Supreme Court of the Republic of Iraq, Judge Jassim Muhammad Aboud.

The President welcomed the visit of the delegation headed by Jassim Mohammed Abboud to Armenia, and pointed to the depth of human and historical relations between the two brotherly countries.

"Relations between our two countries are developing dynamically, and mutual visits at various levels continue.

President Khachaturyan in particular said: "Iraq has been an important event. Over the course of our discussions, we have stated that we have great opportunities and potential in terms of developing relations between our two countries, especially the great untapped potential in the economic field."

The President of the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq thanked for the welcome and pointed out: "Our visit to Armenia stems from the depth of relations between the two countries and the full agreement on humanitarian issues," and that Iraq has made great achievements in the field of democratic construction through holding elections, whether related to the Iraqi Council of Representatives or provincial councils, and that preparations are underway for the election of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament despite all the difficult circumstances that the country has gone through, and that this indicates a sound democratic transition and the application of the constitution in a way that guarantees that. Building democracy and preserving the constitution and not violating it as the national document that guarantees the unity of the country and through it the rights and freedoms of the Iraqi people are preserved.

The two sides stressed the role of the constitutional judiciary in establishing the principles of democracy, preserving the rights and freedoms of peoples and building constitutional institutions in a way that leads to the establishment of correct democratic principles.

The two sides exchanged views on the similarities between the state institutions of Armenia and Iraq and the importance of ongoing reforms.

During the conversation, opportunities for developing cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, cultural and other fields were noted, and from this point of view, the need to take consistent steps to realize the current potential of cooperation was emphasized.
