The Federal Supreme Court issues a state order rejecting the suspension of the implementation of the procedures of the Kirkuk Provincial Council session
Baghdad/ Media of the Federal Supreme Court
The Federal Supreme Court ruled to reject two requests submitted to it to issue an urgent state order that includes ((suspending the implementation of the procedures of the Kirkuk Provincial Council session dated 10/8/2024, and the results of appointing the head of the provincial council and the governor of Kirkuk and instructing the president of the republic in addition to his job not to issue a presidential decree to the elected governor, until the appeal is resolved in the session and its results)).
The court found that responding to the request to suspend the implementation of the session procedures would give a prior opinion on the two lawsuits filed before it in numbers (213/federal/2024) and (214/federal/2024) according to which the hearing was requested to be invalidated and the results that resulted from it.
The court confirmed that it did not proceed to consider the above two lawsuits, as they are still in the process of notifying the disputing parties in them and until the completion of the requirements of the court's internal regulations No. (1) of 2022.
