Ayas al-Samouk, the spokesman of the Federal Supreme Court responded to a question about the current post title of Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud:

"The Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud is currently occupying the post of President of the Federal Supreme Court, while the post of the President of Supreme Judicial Council is occupied by Judge Faiq Zeidan the President of the Federal Court of Cassation since the beginning of 2017 until now, after the issuance of the Supreme Judicial Council Law No. 45 of 2017."
